TRM Vitamin E 2000 - vitamin E for horses

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant responsible for removing free radicals; it is a fat-soluble vitamin.

Intensive training and stress cause the release of free radicals in the body. Free radicals (oxidants) damage cell walls and the immune system and have carcinogenic effects. Performance horses and those exposed to stress should therefore be given antioxidants such as vitamin E.

A lack of antioxidants can cause general weakness, muscle problems and increased susceptibility to infections, and may also lead to chronic diseases.

A diet rich in oils should always be supported with vitamin E and selenium. 

Vitamin E supplementation is particularly recommended for growing young breeding stock (foals and weanlings), pregnant mares and stallions.

Vitamin E supplementation is particularly important for horses without constant access to good-quality pasture.
